De Beloften van FC Groningen spelen vanavond in Rotterdam de eerste wedstrijd in de Beloften Eredivisie. Tegenstander is Jong Feyenoord/Excelsior, de winnaar van voorronde Poule A. Aanvang op Sportpark Varkenoord is 18.30 uur.
In de eerste fase van de Beloftencompetitie, een halve competitie met acht deelnemers, eindigde FC Groningen als derde in Poule A met 14 punten uit zeven duels. Ruim voldoende voor plaatsing in de Beloften Eredivisie, die twaalf deelnemers kent. Jong Feyenoord/Excelsior werd de winnaar van Poule B. Het duel op Sportpark Varkenoord begint vanavond om 18.30 uur.
Vanavond zal de ploeg van Dick Lukkien afreizen naar Rotterdam met onder meer de voltallige bankbezetting van het eerste elftal van zondagmiddag in de gelederen: Marco Bizot, Lorenzo Burnet, Jonas Ivens, Paco van Moorsel, Oluwafemi Ajilore, Filip Kostic en Suk Hyun-Jun (die terug is van een schorsing). Van de A-kern behoort ook Henk Bos tot de wedstrijdselectie.
