Voor enkele jeugdteams van FC Groningen/Cambuur zit na morgen de competitie erop. Voor FCG B1 was dit vorige week al het geval. Zij degradeerden na het verlies bij Heerenveen/Emmen B1 uit de eredivisie. FCG C1, FCG C3 en FCG D1 hebben nu ook hun laatste competitieverplichtingen.
FCG C1 gaat op bezoek bij Almere City FC C1 terwijl FCG C3 in Nijmegen NEC/FC Oss C2 treft. FCG D1, dat dit seizoen als runner-up zal eindigen, speelt in Twello tegen Go Ahead Eagles D1.
FCG A1 mag nog even flink aan de bak aangezien het vlaggenschip nog altijd niet zeker is van lijfsbehoud in de Nike Eredivisie. De ploeg van trainer Paul Raveneau speelt nog twee wedstrijden en weet dat een overwinning genoeg is voor prolongatie van het eredivisieschap. Tegenstander NEC/FC Oss A1 heeft rechtstreekse degradatie dan al wel afgewend ook de Gelderlanders hebben nog een resultaat nodig wil het bijvoorbeeld niet in de nacompetitie terecht komen. NEC/FC Oss A1 leed onlangs nog een smadelijke 6-1 nederlaag bij hekkensluiter ADO Den Haag A1. Ook FCG A1 is echter niet in vorm. Groen-wit stapte de laatste drie duels met lege handen van het veld.
