Vol overgave wapperden de D-pupillen van ZFC Zuidlaren zondagmiddag voor de wedstrijd van FC Groningen met het Essent-megashirt. Vanaf de middencirkel van het Euroborg-stadion lieten de jeugdspelers zo hun steun blijken voor de profs in hun wedstrijd tegen AZ.
Eén van de wapperaars was de 11-jarige Bedo Fransens. Hij had bij de aftrap van de wedstrijd een mooi scenario voor ogen. “Wij als enthousiaste voetballers van ZFC hopen de FC met onze aanwezigheid zo te motiveren en aan te moedigen dat ze gaan winnen!” En dat is gelukt, want de thuisclub versloeg de Alkmaarders met 2-1. Op uitnodiging van Essent De D-spelers van de Drentse club waren aanwezig op uitnodiging van Essent. Iedere thuiswedstrijd biedt het energiebedrijf, dat hoofdsponsor is van FC Groningen, een ander jeugdteam uit het Amateurconvenant FC Groningen de kans om de profs vóór de wedstrijd van heel dichtbij aan te moedigen.
