Ed Janssen fluit zondagmiddag de competitiewedstrijd tegen Heracles Almelo. De arbiter uit Meijel is de vervanger van de geblesseerde scheidsrechter Pol van Boekel, zo maakte de KNVB donderdag bekend. Het is voor Janssen de tiende keer dat hij een wedstrijd leidt in Euroborg.
De arbiter maakte zijn debuut in Euroborg in september 2006 bij de gewonnen bekerwedstrijd tegen Top Oss (2-1). Afgelopen seizoen was Janssen de leidsman tijdens de laatste competitiewedstrijd van het seizoen op 3 mei van dit jaar. Ook toen was Heracles Almelo de tegenstander en werd het 3-1 in het voordeel van FC Groningen.
Club van 100 Twee spelers van FC Groningen staan zondag in Euroborg voor een mijlpaal in hun carrière. Zowel Tjaronn Chery als Eric Botteghin spelen – wanneer ze tegen Heracles Almelo in actie komen – hun honderdste wedstrijd in de Eredivisie.
Chery speelde eerder voor FC Twente en ADO Den Haag op het hoogste niveau en kwam tot op heden 32 keer in actie voor de Trots van het Noorden in de Eredivisie. Botteghin speelde tot nu toe 35 competitiewedstrijden in het groen-wit en droeg eerder in zijn carrière tijdens Eredivisiewedstrijden het shirt van NAC Breda.
Rasmus Lindgren is qua de meest ervaren speler in de FC-selectie Eredivisieduels met 176 wedstrijden, gevolgd door Tom Hiariej met 123 wedstrijden op het hoogste niveau. Nick van der Velden kwam 122 keer in actie in de Eredivisie terwijl de teller bij Maikel Kieftenbeld op 113 staat. Chery en Botteghin staan op een gedeelde vijfde plaats en kunnen zondag dus toetreden tot de club van 100. Tafel van Kees Algemeen directeur Hans Nijland van FC Groningen is zondagochtend één van de gasten in het live televisieprogramma ‘de Tafel van Kees’ op FOX Sports Eredivisie. Tussen 10.30 uur en 12.00 uur neemt presentator Kees Jansma het voetbalweekeinde door met actuele gasten. De Tafel van Kees wordt uitgezonden vanuit de Endemol Studio’s in Amsterdam en is te zien op kanaal 1 van FOX Sports. Naast Nijland schuiven ook sidekick Hans Kraaij jr., sc Heerenveen-speler Joey van den Berg en voetbalanalist Henk Spaan aan.
