Michael Jansen wordt de rest van het seizoen 2009/2010 verhuurd aan Go Ahead Eagles in Deventer. Hij staat bij FC Groningen onder contract tot medio 2011. "Zondag hoop ik mijn debuut te maken," aldus de verdediger.
Jansen mocht uitkijken naar een andere club en stond eerder in de belangstelling van Cambuur Leeuwarden. Daarvandaan maakte hij afgelopen zomer transfervrij de overstap naar FC Groningen, maar hij kwam met de Friezen niet tot overeenstemming.
Snel gegaan In Groningen maakte Jansen zijn debuut in de bekerwedstrijd bij Vitesse. Eind november stond hij in de basis tijdens de Eredivisiewedstrijden tegen RKC Waalwijk en NEC. De verdediger sluit komende donderdag aan bij de eerste selectie van Go Ahead Eagles.
Michael Jansen was woensdag in Euroborg om spullen op te halen en een verhuizing te regelen. “Het is allemaal heel snel gegaan,” aldus de verdediger. “Gisteren aan het einde van de dag is het pas definitief rond gekomen. Ik heb onder meer een gesprek gehad met trainer Andries Ulderink. Die had ik al eens eerder gesproken. Hij is een hele rustige man en heeft aangegeven dat ik in aanmerking kom voor de plek links centraal in de verdediging.”
Veel zin “Het appartement dat ik hier in Groningen heb, ga ik opzeggen. Als ik over een aantal maanden hier in Groningen terugkom, staat er vast wel weer iets anders vrij. Ik heb ook een huis in Arnhem en van daaruit is het ongeveer veertig kilometer rijden naar Deventer. Dus dat is prima te doen. Vanavond ga ik naar Breda om de bekerwedstrijd van Go Ahead Eagles tegen NAC Breda te bekijken.”
“Zelf kan ik nog niet meedoen omdat de overschrijving niet op tijd rond kwam (had gemoeten voor dinsdag om 12.00 uur – red.). De komende dagen train ik tweemaal mee met mijn nieuwe team en heb ik de kans iedereen te leren kennen. Zondag staat de uitwedstrijd tegen FC Den Bosch op het programma. Dan kan ik mijn debuut maken. Ik heb er veel zin in om er te gaan spelen. Sinds een aantal maanden ben ik topfit en ik zal de komende tijd het beste van mezelf laten zien.”
