De aanklager betaald voetbal heeft FC-trainer Ron Jans een schikkingsvoorstel gedaan van één voorwaardelijk duel schorsing en een geldboete van 500 euro. Dit naar aanleiding van zijn veldverwijzing in het uitduel met sc Heerenveen. De club en trainer gaan hiermee akkoord.
Zaterdagavond schopte trainer Ron Jans in de laatste minuut van de reguliere speeltijd een bal weg die in het trainersvak beland was. Hij werd vervolgens door scheidsrechter Jan Wegereef naar de tribunes verwezen.
Door het accepteren van het schikkingsvoorstel kan Ron Jans aanstaande vrijdag in de thuiswedstrijd tegen Roda JC voor de 223ste keer een competitiewedstrijd van FC Groningen coachen. Hij is sinds oktober 2002 hoofdcoach van de FC en is daarmee momenteel de langst zittende trainer van de Eredivisie.
