FC Groningen TV besteedt vanavond ruim uitgebreid aandacht aan de finale van de Buurt Battle. Ook is aandacht voor de historie van Groningen-De Graafschap. De uitzending begint om 17.55 uur op Eredivisie Live 2.
Teams uit zes wijken uit Groningen en Hoogezand streden afgelopen woensdag in het kader van FC Groningen Buurt Battle op Sportpark De Parrel in Groningen om een VIP-arrangement voor FC Groningen – NAC Breda van aanstaande woensdag. Elke wijk leverde woensdag twee teams die waren samengesteld uit deelnemers die na acht weken voetbaltrainingen en buurtbijdragen in hun wijk de meeste punten hadden behaald.
De teams werden gecoacht door spelers van FC Groningen. Zo hadden Kees Kwakman en Tim Sparv teams uit de wijk Beijum onder hun hoede terwijl Nicklas Pedersen en Matias Jones succesvol assisteerden bij de coaching van een team uit de wijk Vinkhuizen. Dankzij het succes van de eerste Buurt Battle is het nu al zeker dat er volgend jaar opnieuw een Buurt Battle wordt georganiseerd.
FC Groningen krijgt vanavond bezoek van De Graafschap. In Euroborg wordt om 20.00 uur afgetrapt. Sinds 1973 speelde FC Groningen zestien keer thuis tegen de Superboeren. Tien van die thuiswedstrijden werden gewonnen door de FC. Zo won FC Groningen op 7 november 1995 met 3-0 dankzij doelpunten van Raymond Beerens, Mariano Bombarda en Dean Gorré.
De Graafschap strijdt nog volop tegen degradatie en heeft de punten dus heel hard nodig. Maar FC Groningen wil de laatste drie competitiewedstrijden positief afsluiten om in elk geval de supporters nog iets te bieden want vooral de fans werden de afgelopen maanden niet echt verwend. Trainer Pieter Huistra, Leandro Bacuna en de van een hamstringblessure teruggekeerde Maikel Kieftenbeld willen daarom vanavond maar een ding: winnen.
Dit seizoen vertelde FC Groningen ‘groundsman’ Peter Smit ons alles over gras en het onderhoud van het veld in Euroborg. Vanavond is de laatste aflevering te zien: het besproeien van het veld.
FC Groningen TV is vanavond om 17.55 uur te zien op Eredivisie Live 2 en om 19.10 op Eredivisie Live 1, voorafgaande aan FC Groningen – De Graafschap. De herhaling is om 22.55 uur en 0.55 uur op EL 2.
