Het waren de spelers van het D1-team van VV Hoogezand die afgelopen vrijdag 11 april op de middenstip van FC Groningen met het shirt van hoofdsponsor Essent mochten wapperen. De voetballers konden hun geluk niet op tijdens de wedstrijd van FC Groningen tegen NAC Breda.
De jonge talenten zien de club en spelers uit het Noorden namelijk als hun grote voorbeeld en inspiratie. Onder hen Jules (12 jaar): ‘Ik vond het fantastisch en erg leuk, maar ook heel spannend om op het veld te staan.’ Diba (11 jaar) vult aan: ‘Het wapperen ging erg goed! De spelers liepen naast ons en we konden ze allemaal van dichtbij zien.’ Wapperen op uitnodiging van hoofdsponsor Essent De D-pupillen van de club uit Hoogezand waren aanwezig op uitnodiging van hoofdsponsor Essent. Verenigingen die zijn aangesloten bij het Amateurconvenant FC Groningen kunnen hun jeugdteams opgeven als wapperaar bij thuiswedstrijden van de club. Essent nodigt clubs met de leukste aanmeldingen via www.essent.nl/fc uit in de Euroborg.
