FC Groningen TV heeft vanavond een terugblik op het duel tegen Ajax, is bij de persconferentie waarin bekend wordt gemaakt dat Essent langer hoofdsponsor blijft van FC Groningen en kijkt alvast vooruit naar het play-offduel van komende donderdag tegen FC Twente.
Voorafgaande aan FC Groningen – Ajax belegde FC Groningen een persconferentie waarin de jarige algemeen directeur Hans Nijland bekend maakte dat hoofdsponsor Essent tot medio 2017 hoofdsponsor blijft van FC Groningen. Peter Terium, CEO van Essent’s moederbedrijf RWE, was zondagochtend speciaal overgekomen uit Duitsland om het goede nieuws toe te kunnen lichten. Terium deelde onder andere mee dat Essent een bijdrage gaat leveren aan de realisering van een ultramodern nieuwe trainingscomplex van FC Groningen op Sportpark Corpus den Hoorn.
Nadat de Drentse band Mooi Wark de Groninger fans had opgewarmd met hun hit ‘Boeruh,’ ging FC Groningen tegen Ajax op jacht naar een mooi resultaat wat plaatsing voor de play-offs om Europees voetbal op kon leveren. De FC verloor met 2-0, maar omdat de concurrenten sc Heerenveen en ADO Den Haag ook verloren, wist FC Groningen zich alsnog te kwalificeren voor het toetje van het voetbalseizoen. FCG TV blikt kort terug op het duel met Essent Man of the Match Leandro Bacuna.
Na afloop van het duel tegen Ajax nam FC Groningen officieel afscheid van Tim Sparv, Oluwafemi Ajilore, Tim Keurntjes, Luis Pedro en trainer Robert Maaskant. Zij gaan de FC komende zomer allen verlaten. Zowel Sparv als Ajilore kijken met een goed gevoel terug op hun tijd bij de Trots van het Noorden. Maaskant vertelde na het afscheid dat hij verwacht dat hij met FC Groningen de komende weken nog minimaal twee keer terugkeert in Euroborg.
Donderdag begint FC Groningen de play-offs met een thuiswedstrijd tegen FC Twente. FC Groningen wist voor het laatst op 21 oktober 2007 te winnen van de Tukkers. Toen werd het 1-0 dankzij een doelpunt van Martijn Meerdink. Diezelfde uitslag zou een goede uitgangspositie kunnen zijn voor de return van komende zondag in Enschede.
FC Groningen TV wordt vanavond om 18.00 uur uitgezonden op Eredivisie Live 1 en om 19.00 uur op Eredivisie Live 2. De herhaling is te zien om 21.00 uur en 23.00 uur op EL2. Woensdag wordt FCG TV om 08.30 uur en 13.15 uur herhaald op EL1.
FC Groningen TV is zaterdag ook te zien op OOG TV. De uitzending op de lokale omroep van Groningen begint om 15.30 uur waarna het tot 9.00 uur in de ochtend wordt herhaald.
