Henk Niemeijer is Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO) van FC Groningen. Inmiddels fungeert hij al twee jaar als verlengstuk van de club richting de achterban. Hoewel Henk voor menig supporter een bekend gezicht zal zijn, is het tijd om deze FC-er (nog) beter te leren kennen.
Rondom thuis- én uitwedstrijden leiden Henk en zijn collega’s alles in goede banen. Problemen proberen zij samen met de supporters op te lossen. “Wij zijn het eerste aanspreekpunt voor supporters, omdat we dezelfde taal spreken.”
Niemeijer omschrijft zichzelf als meedenkend. “Mensen verwachten dat ook van je. Zij komen naar het stadion, er gebeurt wat en dan moeten we het samen oplossen.” De Trots van het Noorden wil van iedere thuiswedstrijd een zinderende beleving maken en optimaal gastheerschap zorgt daarvoor. Daarom zijn de inspanningen van de SLO'ers zeer belangrijk voor de club.
Voor de FC-er in hart en nieren is zijn huidige rol een uit de hand gelopen hobby. “Ik vind het gewoon geweldig om te doen. FC Groningen is mijn club.” In onderstaande video vertelt de SLO meer over zichzelf en zijn functie.
