FC Groningen maakt vanmiddag een bijzondere uitzending van De Warming-up. Deze keer wordt er niet met een speler vooruitgeblikt op het competitieduel van dit weekend, maar zijn algemeen directeur Wouter Gudde en supporterscoördinator Matthias Mulder te gast. Zij vertellen onder meer over de procedure van tegemoetkoming waarop seizoenkaarthouders recht hebben vanwege het missen van wedstrijden door de coronamaatregelen. De show wordt vanmiddag omstreeks 16.00 uur uitgezonden op YouTube.
Liefst 11.300 supporters kochten dit seizoen een seizoenkaart zonder de garantie te hebben op een normaal voetbalseizoen. Echte clubliefde. Het seizoen liep anders dan iedereen had gehoopt, waardoor de club haar seizoenkaarthouders niet heeft kunnen bieden waarop zij recht hadden. Ongelooflijk balen. Voorafgaand aan het seizoen heeft FC Groningen altijd gezegd de supporters tegemoet te komen, maar mede op verzoek van verschillende supporters en na een gesprek met het Supportersoverleg heeft FC Groningen ervoor gekozen wel diverse opties te bieden en niet automatisch terug te betalen. Gudde en Mulder leggen in de show uit wat de opties zijn.
FC Groningen wil het jubileumseizoen mooi afsluiten en heeft zowel sportief als maatschappelijk nog veel om voor te strijden. Het duel met N.E.C. is een rechtstreeks gevecht om een plaats in het linkerrijtje met uitzicht op de play-offs. Vanzelfsprekend wordt er vooruitgekeken op de wedstrijd in een goedgevulde en sfeervolle Euroborg.
Hoewel dit een andere uitzending is dan normaal gesproken, blijven de vaste items in de show aanwezig. Trainer Danny Buijs beschouwt voor en oud-speler Kurt Elshot en voorzitter van de Supportersvereniging John de Jonge gaan verder met de battle. Het gelijkspel in Rotterdam bij Feyenoord leverde beide mannen een forse winst op, al zal Elshot nog breder lachen dan De Jonge. De voormalig rechtsback loopt verder uit. Wat voorspellen beide mannen voor het thuisduel met N.E.C.?
