Woensdagmiddag werd de jaarlijkse FC Groningen Junior Club Dag gevierd. De ijshal van sportcentrum Kardinge werd omgebouwd tot een geweldig speelparadijs! Met bijna 900 bezoekers was het een drukke en hele leuke en gezellige dag!
De Junior Club Dag is een speciale dag, exclusief voor de leden van de FC Groningen Junior Club, die zich hiervoor kunnen opgeven. Het is een groot evenement, waar voor een ieder iets leuks te doen is. Toen om 13.30 uur de deuren open gingen, stroomde er al een grote groep kinderen naar binnen. Bij binnenkomst kregen zij een lot voor de loterij, waarmee elk uur een leuke prijs te winnen viel. Ook stond er popcorn en een lekkere suikerspin voor ze klaar. Attracties De ijshal stond vol met superleuke attracties, zoals springkussens, stormbanen, een kartbaan en zelfs een bungeetrampoline. De kinderen sprongen bijna tegen het dak aan! Echte voetballiefhebbers konden naar een voetbalshow kijken, gegeven door BB Freestyle, en daarna zelf ook deze trucs proberen te leren. Aan de rode wangen van de kinderen te zien, deden ze hun uiterste best!
Soms was er ook een blik naar boven nodig; met grote ogen keken kinderen naar enorme clowns, die ineens binnenkwamen. Ze waren wel drie meter groot! En natuurlijk was ook clubmascotte Groby erbij. Groby is de hele middag gebleven om mee te spelen met de kinderen, op de foto te gaan en zo nu en dan deed hij zijn eigen voetbalshow. Vrienden Groby had ook twee van zijn goede vrienden meegenomen, de FC Groningen-spelers Kees Kwakman en Matias Jones. Zij wilden ook graag komen kijken naar alle pret in de ijshal. Honderden kinderen hebben een handtekening gescoord en veel van hen zijn met de populaire voetballers op de foto geweest! Naast alle leuke attracties was de Junior Club ook present met een eigen stand. Hier konden alle aanwezigen posters, spelerskaarten en allerlei andere leuke hebbedingetjes verkrijgen. En wilde je een ander cool FC-item scoren, dan kon dat bij de verkoopkar van de Fanshop. Loterij Toen om 16.30 uur de vierde ronde van de loterij was geweest en de prijzen waren opgehaald door de gelukkigen, werden de kinderen langzaam maar zeker toch moe. Het was dan ook bijna tijd om naar huis te gaan. Ze kregen nog een mooie ballon van een superlange clown en bij de uitgang kregen de kinderen een cool cadeautje mee naar huis – cheeringsticks van de Junior Club – en wat een lawaai kun je daarmee maken! Zo ging iedereen, overladen met cadeautjes en hebbedingetjes, moe maar voldaan weer richting huis. Het was een zeer geslaagde middag geweest!
