FC Groningen traint vanaf medio 2015 op het nieuwe trainingscomplex Corpus den Hoorn. Dit complex wordt vanaf het voorjaar van 2014 door de gemeente, in samenwerking met de FC, heringericht met nieuwe velden en voorzieningen. De gemeenteraad van Groningen stemde woensdagavond in met het voorstel van wethouder Dig Istha.
Hierdoor kan onderwijsinstelling Noorderpoort op de huidige trainingslocatie van FC Groningen op het Europapark in de zomer van 2015 starten met de bouw van een sporthal met aanpalende sportvelden. Deze sporthal wordt eveneens samen met de gemeente ontwikkeld en geëxploiteerd. Renovatie Het sportcomplex Corpus den Hoorn krijgt met de herinrichting een grootschalige renovatie. FC Groningen legt drie eigen velden aan. Deze velden zijn een moderne combinatie van natuur- en kunstgras. Voor de op het complex gevestigde verenigingen worden vier bestaande velden aangepakt.
Door de aanleg van nieuwe kunstgrassportvelden en kleedkamers kan het complex intensiever worden gebruikt door de reeds aanwezige verenigingen. Tegelijkertijd geeft de trainings-aanwezigheid van alle FC Groningen-elftallen een enorme impuls aan de amateurverenigingen op het complex.
