Technisch directeur Mark-Jan Fledderus was vrijdag 31 januari, op de laatste dag van de transferwindow, onverwacht trending topic op social media. Op de dag waarop ook de Brexit plaatsvond en prinses Beatrix haar 82ste verjaardag vierde, was de hashtag #FLEDDIEMAAKMEGEK lange tijd het meest populaire gespreksonderwerp op de social mediakanalen in Nederland. In een uitgebreid interview met FC Groningen TV kijkt Fledderus onder meer terug op het afgelopen transferwindow, met ook voor hem persoonlijk een bijzondere slotdag.
FC Groningen trok met Görkem Can en Daishawn Redan twee spelers aan in de afgelopen transferperiode. Het viertal Kaj Sierhuis, Charlison Benschop, Michael Breij en Jannik Pohl verliet de Trots van het Noorden. FC Groningen TV gaat in het Hitachi Capital Mobility Stadion in gesprek met Fledderus over de afgelopen maanden en kijkt tevens vooruit op de tweede seizoenshelft.
