Twee van de zeven jeugdteams van RVO FC Groningen/Cambuur spelen morgen een thuiswedstrijd. In de vroege middag ontvangt koploper FCG D1 de D3 van FC Twente. Om drie uur neemt FCG B1 het op tegen titelkandidaat Feyenoord B1.
In de eredivisie bij de B-junioren is de strijd om het kampioenschap ongemeen spannend. De eerste drie ploegen hebben een gelijk aantal punten terwijl Feyenoord B1, de nummer vier van het klassement, ook nog volop in de race is met een achterstand van slechts twee punten. De Rotterdammers zijn de tegenstander van FC Groningen/Cambuur B1. De Groningers strijden niet om de titel maar hebben dit seizoen al wel bewezen tegen elk team te kunnen winnen en een goede pot voetbal op de mat te leggen. De mannen van trainer Peter Moltmaker stonden in vijf dagen tijd tweemaal te spelen op De Herdgang in Eindhoven. Vorig weekeinde werd het puntenduel tegen PSV B1 met 5-4 verloren, vier dagen later werd de onder-16 ploeg van PSV op een 3-0 bekernederlaag getrakteerd. Spannend! Dat is het zeker ook aan kop van de Eerste Divisie C bij de D-pupillen. Daar staan FC Groningen/Cambuur D1 en SC Heerenveen D1 op een gezamenlijke eerste plaats. De ploeg van trainer Hugo Alves Velame zag de Friezen langszij komen na een smadelijke nederlaag tegen NEC/FC Oss D1. De Groningers hebben wel een beter doelsaldo, maar mochten beide teams gelijk eindigen in het klassement dan is dat niet doorslaggevend. In dat geval wordt een beslissingsduel afgewerkt. Pas als ook die wedstrijd na verlenging nog onbeslist is, dan wordt gekeken naar het doelsaldo in de competitie. Overigens was FC Twente D3 eerder dit seizoen al te gast op Corpus voor bekerverplichtingen. Dat duel werd door de Groningers met 3-1 gewonnen.
