FC Groningen TV staat vanavond geheel in het teken van de derby van het noorden van komende zondag tussen sc Heerenveen en FC Groningen. SC Heerenveen-FC Groningen wordt voor de 24e keer gespeeld. Door een technische storing is de eerste uitzending helaas komen te vervallen.
FCG TV duikt in de historie en gaat terug naar maart 2009. Toen won Heerenveen met 2-1. De Friezen hadden toen niet te klagen dat zowel Martijn Meerdink als Gonzalo Garcia met twee keer geel voortijdig van het veld moesten. Zelfs Ron Jans werd naar de tribune verwezen vanwege het wegtrappen van de bal. Uiteraard wordt ook teruggekeken naar de laatste twee duels die beide door FC Groningen werden gewonnen.
Voor FC Groningen materiaalman Bert de Voogd heeft de derby een bijzondere betekenis. In 1977 moest hij als 16-jarige jongen plotseling keepen in de ploeg van de toenmalige trainer Theo Verlangen omdat de eerste twee keepers, Azing Griever en Willy Huberts, geblesseerd waren. Het zou de enige wedstrijd blijven die De Voogd ooit keepte in het betaalde voetbal.
Als alles verloopt zoals gepland dan zal aanwinst David Texeira zondag deel uit maken van de selectie van trainer Pieter Huistra. FC Groningen directeur Hans Nijland vertelt hoe FC Groningen dit huzarenstukje voor elkaar heeft gekregen.
Tot slot peilen programmamakers Emiel Venema en Jos Schoenmaker de stemming tijdens de training van FC Groningen en kijken vooruit met Pieter Huistra, Jonas Ivens, Dusan Tadic en Lorenzo Burnet. Tijdens de training troffen ze collega’s van sc Heerenveen TV die meteen aan de tand werden gevoeld over hoe het er voor staat in Heerenveen.
FC Groningen TV wordt vanavond (waarschijnlijk) om 18.55 uur uitgezonden op Eredivisie Live 2. Het programma wordt om 23.00 uur herhaald in Eredivisie LIve 1. Op Eredivisie Live 2 zijn er herhalingen om 20.55 uur en 22.55 uur. Zaterdag wordt FCG TV om 14.15 uur herhaald op EL1.
