FC Groningen speelt volgende week woensdag, 9 november, om 14.30 uur een oefenwedstrijd in eigen stadion tegen Cambuur. De ploeg van trainer Ernest Faber treedt hierbij aan zonder de internationals. Voor dit oefenduel wordt de Piet Fransen Tribune van het Noordlease Stadion geopend en kunnen belangstellenden via ingang 2 vrij plaatsnemen op de tribune.
FC Groningen heeft na komend weekeinde geen competitieverplichtingen in verband met een interlandperiode. De technische staf wil deze periode echter graag benutten om spelers wedstrijdritme te laten behouden of te geven.
Burgemeester Peter den Oudsten van Groningen moet formeel nog toestemming verlenen voor het oefenduel. Vorige maand was er een soortgelijke situatie en toen maakte FC Groningen van de gelegenheid gebruik om in eigen huis te oefenen tegen NAC Breda.
Combinatieteam
Aangezien Faber volgende week niet over alle spelers kan beschikken, zal FC Groningen bij de oefenwedstrijd tegen Cambuur aantreden met een combinatieteam. Op de omloop van de Piet Fransen Tribune zal een horecaverkooppunt geopend zijn. Er is gratis toegang en vrije zit op dit tribunedeel.
