Zaterdagavond 7 juli om 18.00 uur speelt FC Groningen tegen het Duitse Kickers Emden. Het is voor de FC het derde oefenduel in de voorbereiding van het seizoen 2012/2013.
Morgenavond doen vier spelers van de A-selectie niet mee. Marco Bizot, Suk Hyun-Jun, Matias Jones en Oluwafemi Ajilore zijn er niet bij. De internationals Maikel Kieftenbeld, Leandro Bacuna, Tim Sparv en Género Zeefuik zullen in de tweede helft hun opwachting maken. Voor Zeefuik is het zijn officieuze debuut in het groen-wit. Vanuit de B-kern maakt Stefan van der Lei zijn opwachting. Atilay Batbay, geboren Duitser, is reserve tijdens het duel. Zijn broer speelt bij tegenstander Kickers Emden. Route Om 17.00 uur zijn de kassa’s en het stadion geopend. Kaarten kosten 8 euro voor FC-fans. Voor de supporters van FC Groningen is het uitvak gereserveerd. Het adres van het stadion van BSV Kickers Emden is Sielweg 10, 26721 Emden. FC-fans kunnen parkeren bij de parkeerplaats van de Noordseehalle.
Vanuit Oldenburg: A28 tot AB-Dreieck Leer, daar op het A31 richting Emden. Vanuit Emsland/Nederland: A31 tot Leer en dan verder richting Emden. Vanaf dat moment geldt: Op de A31, uit de richting Leer afslag Emden-Mitte (dus niet: Emden-Ost!) nemen, links richting het centrum tot de eerste grote kruising. Daar rechts afbuigen in de Schützenstraße, over de Schützenbrücke. Aan de linker zijde naast Schützenplatz en voor de Nordseehalle ligt het stadion. Gebruik de parkeerplaats van de Nordseehalle.
