FC Groningen heeft zaterdagavond in Euroborg met 3-1 gewonnen van Vitesse. Richairo Zivkovic openende de score. Bij rust was het 1-1. Nick van der Velden en Tjaronn Chery voerden de score op naar 2-1 en 3-1.
FC Groningen was toe aan een overwinning en de wedstrijd begon goed toen Richairo Zivkovic na tien minuten de score wist te openen. Zivkovic kreeg enkele mogelijkheden op meer, maar vond telkens de Vitesse-goalie op zijn pad. Aan het einde van de eerste helft wist Vitesse iets terug te doen en viel de 1-1.
In de tweede helft bleef FC Groningen er vol voor gaan. Uiteindelijk wist Nick van der Velden de 2-1 te maken. Tjaronn Chery bepaalde de eindstand op 3-1.
Aanstaande zaterdag speelt FC Groningen een uitwedstrijd tegen PSV. Je kunt je nog aanmelden om met de FanTour mee te reizen (klik hier voor meer informatie).
Voorafgaand aan de wedstrijd liepen er wederom Junior Club leden het veld op met een speler. Bij deze wedstrijd waren de gelukkigen: Kyle Kooi, Mart Tielen, Fabio Matta, Martin Bakker, Luuk Fleurke, Rianne Prins, Luke Klinkhamer, Roelof Reusken, Marc Vereijken, R. Drent, Robbert Gritter, Daan van der Veen, Lars Bekker en Yasper Bos. Zij hebben net zoals de spelers een fantastische avond beleefd!
Tijdens de rust van de wedstrijd vond de 1e halve finale plaats van de Gasunie Shoot-Out. Stefan de Vries, Jeffrey Kuil, Pim Wellinghoff, Niels Goedhart en Stefan Wegter streden om een plek in de finale. Niels Goedhart wist de meeste punten te scoren, hij is door naar de finale die gespeeld wordt op 3 mei.
