FC Groningen is het weekend goed begonnen. De FC speelde afgelopen vrijdagavond een uitwedstrijd tegen PEC Zwolle. In de zeventigste minuut kopte Eric Botteghin de bal in het doel. Hiermee bepaalde hij de eindstand op 0-1.
In de eerste helft viel er niet heel veel te beleven. Echte pogingen op doel kwamen er niet. De kansen die PEC kreeg, werden gekeerd door Marco Bizot.
In de zeventigste minuut werd de wedstrijd beslist. Een vrije trap van Krisztian Adorjan werd nog weggewerkt, maar opnieuw ingebracht door aanvoerder Maikel Kieftenbeld. Hij mikte de bal precies op het hoofd van oud-Zwollenaar Eric Botteghin, die de bal keihard richting de grond kopte voor 0-1.
Komende vrijdag krijgt de FC bezoek van NAC Breda in Euroborg. Het duel begint om 20.00 uur.
