Afgelopen zondag heeft FC Groningen met 3-0 verloren van SC Heerenveen. Het enige lichtpuntje van de wedstrijd was het debuut van de nieuwe spits David Texeira.
In tegenstelling tot eerdere wedstrijden speelde FC Groningen zwak in de eerste helft. Ook Heerenveen begon veel te lief aan de derby van het noorden, waardoor er in de eerste 45 minuten weinig gebeurde in het Abe Lenstra Stadion. De grootste kans kwam van Leandro Bacuna, maar helaas wist Heerenveen doelman Vandenbussche een doelpunt te voorkomen. Net toen het 0-0 leek te blijven in de eerste helft scoorde Bas Dost in de laatste seconden van de eerste helft de 1-0 voor de thuisploeg.
Na de rust probeerde FC Groningen druk te zetten op het doel van Heerenveen, maar verder dan een rollertje van
Pedersen en een vrije bal van Van Dijk die over ging kwam Groningen niet. Aan de andere kant scoorde Oussama Assaidi de 2-0 voor SC Heerenveen en daarmee leek de wedstrijd beslist. Trainer Pieter Huistra besloot om de nieuwe spits David Texeira in het veld te brengen. Hij schoot een hele mooi omhaal net naast het doel van Heerenveen, maar wist geen doelpunt te maken. Aan het einde van de wedstrijd schoot Filip Djuricic de derde goal binnen voor Heerenveen. Een wedstrijd om snel te vergeten dus. Aankomende zaterdag speelt FC Groningen thuis tegen Excelsior om 18.45 uur. Nu hopen dat ze dan weer 3 punten pakken in een volle Euroborg!
