Donderdagmiddag eindigde FC Groningen als tweede in de Energieprijs Ondernemend Groningen. Vorig jaar kreeg de club de aanmoedigingsprijs. Ikea ging in het Stadhuis met de hoogste eer en een cheque van 10.000 euro aan de haal.
Volgens de jury heeft FC Groningen de aanmoedigingsprijs van vorig jaar uitstekend weten om te zetten in aanvullende resultaten. Een mooi voorbeeld is voor het energie besparen actief parameters te volgen om er consequent acties aan te verbinden.
Zo is in 2011 het gasverbruik verminderd door het vernieuwd inregelen van de veldverwarming. Ook is een grote besparing op elektriciteit bewerkstelligd van 400.000 kWh minder in 2011 dan in het referentiejaar 2008.
Wat de jury aanspreekt is dat een groot gedeelte voortkomt uit het kweken van bewustwording van medewerkers en zelfs leidt het organiseren van wedstrijden om te besparen onder het personeel. Dus energie besparen kan ook leuk zijn!
FC Groningen experimenteert ook; bijvoorbeeld door innovatieve LED-groeikassen. Het mag duidelijk zijn dat FC Groningen dit ook goed zichtbaar weet te vermarkten naar de zeer brede achterban. Het zet de club FC Groningen en daarmee de ondernemers op de kaart.
De jury vindt de boodschap dan ook ijzersterk. Weet wat er gebeurt, maak een gedegen plan en pak dit aan met alle medewerkers en draag het ook uit.
