FC Groningen is een samenwerking aangegaan met Steundeclub.nl om samen met supporters projecten te crowdfunden. Daarnaast wordt Steundeclub.nl partner van het Amateurconvenant van FC Groningen.
Op Steundeclub.nl heeft FC Groningen een eigen clubpagina (http://fcgroningen.steundeclub.nl/) waarop projecten van de club gepresenteerd worden. De supporters van FC Groningen staan als een blok achter hun club en zijn daarom bij uitstek de juiste personen om de crowdfunding-projecten een kans van slagen te geven.
Met Steundeclub.nl krijgen zij de mogelijkheid te doneren aan een project. Donateurs krijgen daar een aan FC Groningen gerelateerde beloning voor terug. Maar supporters kunnen ook zelf een actie starten om geld in te zamelen voor een project. De Trots van het Noorden hoopt met dit initiatief meer betrokkenheid te creëren door projecten te financieren waar haar achterban baat bij heeft en achter staat.
Het eerste project dat de club wil realiseren via online fondsenwerving is de FC Groningen Experience. Met deze Experience wil de bekerwinnaar een uniek ingerichte multifunctionele omgeving realiseren met gevoel voor clubhistorie, waar activiteiten voor jong en oud te beleven zijn.
Het moet dé plek worden waar de geschiedenis van FC Groningen tot leven komt, maar waar ook de ruimte is voor andere zaken. Zo kunnen leden van de Green White Bengels of de Junior Club er terecht voor hun activiteiten. Een interactief museum met wisselende collecties en gadgets.
Behalve het bereiken van eigen doelen, moedigt FC Groningen ook amateurclubs aan die aangesloten zijn bij het Amateurconvenant om hun projecten op Steundeclub.nl te zetten. Met Amateurconvenant wil de Trots van het Noorden het algemene voetbalniveau verbeteren en de voetbalbeleving in Noord-Nederland stimuleren. Op dit moment zijn bijna 200 amateurverenigingen uit de provincies Groningen, Drenthe en Friesland aangesloten bij het Amateurconvenant FC Groningen.
Naast dat de aangesloten voetbalverenigingen tegen speciale financiële condities gebruik kunnen maken van Steundeclub.nl, zullen FC Groningen en Steundeclub.nl met hun kennis, ervaring en middelen de clubs ondersteunen het crowdfunden tot een succes te maken. Over Steundeclub.nl Het platform Steundeclub.nl is een initiatief van Mobillion uit Arnhem dat zich specialiseert in online fondsenwerving. Mobillion heeft 15 jaar kennis en ervaring in interactief internet en mobiele toepassingen. Het bedrijf biedt ‘social good’ organisaties gereedschap om online fondsen te werven en een netwerk van betrokken supporters en donateurs op te bouwen. Mobillion werkt onder meer voor: Spieren voor Spieren, Nationaal Ouderenfonds, Stichting ALS, Museum Arnhem, Universiteit Leiden en Rijksuniversiteit Groningen.
