De selectie van FC Groningen is aan het begin van de avond aangekomen voor het trainingskamp in Spanje. Na een vlucht vanaf Eindhoven Airport van zo’n tweeënhalf uur landden de spelersgroep en staf in Alicante. Een touringbus bracht het FC-gezelschap vervolgens naar het La Torre Golf Resort waar de Trots van het Noorden een week zal verblijven in het Doubletree by Hilton La Torre. Donderdagochtend, 15 december, staat de eerste training op het programma.
Niet de aangekondigde 26, maar 25 spelers stapten woensdagochtend in de spelersbus op Sportpark Corpus den Hoorn om aan de reisdag naar Spanje te beginnen. Florian Krüger moest ziek achterblijven, maar sluit zo snel mogelijk aan bij de groep.
De Trots van het Noorden verblijft een week in de buurt van Murcia. In deze periode worden naast dagelijkse trainingen en teamactiviteiten onder meer twee oefenwedstrijden gespeeld. In het kielzog van spelers en trainers is een mediateam van de club meegereisd om dagelijks verslag te doen vanuit het trainingskamp. Vandaag het eerste verslag van de reisdag.
