Deze week wordt de eerste uitgave van het vernieuwde FC Groningen Journaal verspreid. De huiskrant van de club – die dit seizoen vier keer zal verschijnen – wordt onder meer verspreid in de gemeenten Groningen, Haren, Winsum, Bedum, Delfzijl, Appingedam, Hoogezand en Assen. De totale oplage van het FC Groningen Journaal is voor deze editie meer dan 200.000 exemplaren.
In de september-uitgave van het FC Groningen Journaal staan interviews, reportages, achtergronden en nieuws over alles wat met FC Groningen te maken heeft. Zo is er een spreadpagina opgemaakt met een groot interview met Eric Botteghin. De centrale verdediger laat onder meer zijn licht schijnen op het aanstaande WK in de zomer van 2014 in zijn geboorteland Brazilië. Elftalposter Verder komen Filip Kostic en Marco Bizot aan het woord in reportages, is er een dubbelinterview met William Ekong en Krisztian Adorjan over hun opleiding in Engeland en de overgang naar de Eredivisie en is er aandacht voor de nieuwe Fan Corner Groningen. In het hart van de krant is een grote elftalposter afgedrukt. De foto van het team is gemaakt vlak voor de aftrap van de thuiswedstrijd tegen RKC Waalwijk, op zaterdag 21 september.
