Vanmiddag beleeft Go Ahead Eagles een primeur. Voor het eerst komt de ploeg uit Deventer op bezoek in Euroborg. Het duel begint om 14.30 uur. De kaartverkoop voor deze wedstrijd loopt via deze website. Vanaf 13.00 uur zijn de kassa's van Euroborg geopend.
De wedstrijd staat zondagmiddag onder leiding van scheidsrechter Tom van Sichem die voor de tiende keer actief is als scheidsrechter bij een duel in Euroborg. Hij wordt geassisteerd door de heren Coen Droste en Edwin de Vree. Vierde official is Jeroen Sanders. Historie FC Groningen en Go Ahead Eagles treffen elkaar zondagmiddag voor de zeventiende keer in een officieel duel op Groningse bodem. Van de voorgaande zestien won Groningen er tien en Go Ahead Eagles twee. De overige vier ontmoetingen eindigden in een gelijkspel. De laatste Eredivisie-ontmoeting dateert van ruim achttien jaar geleden. Destijds werd het 0-0. In 1999 troffen de ploegen elkaar in het Stadion Oosterpark in de Toto-Divisie en won de FC met 6-1.
Collecte Voor aanvang van de wedstrijd van vandaag zal gecollecteerd worden voor het UMCG Kanker Research Fonds in Groningen en het KWF. De Stichting Samen Strijden tegen kanker organiseert op zondag 30 maart 2014 een grootschalig spinning-evenement in Roden. Ook FC Groningen zal een bijdrage leveren.
