FC Groningen en Make-A-Wish Nederland starten een Make-A-Wish Competitie. Alle bij het Amateurconvenant FC Groningen aangesloten clubs kunnen deelnemen aan dit nieuwe initiatief. De amateurvereniging die het meeste geld inzamelt, mag een wedstrijd tegen FC Groningen spelen.
Dit kan een oefenwedstrijd zijn in de voorbereiding op het seizoen 2014/2015 of een afsluitende wedstrijd aan het einde van de competitie. De nummers 2 en 3 in de Make-A-Wish Competitie winnen een voetbalclinic van FC Groningen. FC Groningen hoopt dat binnen de amateurclubs verschillende teams zich gaan inzetten voor deze actie, want het elftal dat het meeste bijdraagt aan het resultaat van de winnende club, krijgt 20 gratis toegangskaarten voor een thuiswedstrijd van FC Groningen. Activiteiten FC Groningen is sinds september 2010 maatschappelijk partner van Make-A-Wish Nederland. Deze stichting vervult de allerliefste wens van kinderen tussen 3 en 18 jaar met een levensbedreigende ziekte. Naast een jaarlijkse financiële bijdrage organiseert FC Groningen verschillende activiteiten om zoveel mogelijk geld in te zamelen voor Make-A-Wish Nederland en om nog meer naamsbekendheid te generen voor de stichting.
Via het aanmeldingsformulier op deze website kan elke club zich opgeven voor deelname aan de Make-A-Wish Competitie. Tot en met 31 december 2013 kunnen amateurverenigingen maatschappelijke activiteiten ontplooien t.b.v. Make-A-Wish Nederland. Aanmelden Aanmelden kan via http://www.fcgroningen.nl/clubsinactie/. FC Groningen ondersteunt iedere deelnemende club met een deelnamepakket bestaande uit een uitleg, een gesigneerd shirt, gesigneerde bal en 2 VIP-wedstrijdkaarten, voor bijvoorbeeld een verloting.
