FC Groningen heeft de stijgende lijn te pakken op zowel Facebook als Twitter. Op Twitter heeft de Trots van het Noorden inmiddels de grens van 11.000 volgers gepasseerd. Ook op Facebook bevindt FC Groningen zich in het linkerrijtje van de Eredivisie wanneer het aankomt op het aantal likes. Bijna 13.500 ‘Facebookers’ laten zien supporter te zijn van de FC.
Er is vooral op Facebook veel interactie met de fans. Op de officiële pagina is het sinds kort mogelijk de timeline te zien van FC Groningen. Dit is de geschiedenis van FC Groningen, van de oprichting van de club tot het aanstellen van Robert Maaskant als trainer. Op de vraag wat de mooiste herinnering aan FC Groningen is en dus op de timeline moet komen, kwamen vele reacties binnen. De timeline zal binnenkort gevuld worden met onder andere memorabele wedstrijden.
De wedstrijden om een Europees ticket tegen ADO Den Haag mogen niet ontbreken. Daarnaast wordt de uiteindelijke 4-3 overwinning op Vitesse, na een 1-3 achterstand, vaak genoemd. Maar ook Europese wedstrijden tegen Atletico Madrid en Fiorentina, promotie- en degradatiewedstrijden komen terug. Net als de eerste wedstrijd in de Euroborg en de fantastische sfeer in het Oosterpark.
