Vandaag, woensdag 7 augustus, neemt FC Groningen een geheel nieuw onderkomen in gebruik: de Fan Corner Groningen. In deze Fan Corner zijn alle supportersaangelegenheden van de club ondergebracht onder één dak.
Supporters van FC Groningen kunnen voor zaken als tickets, merchandise en clubinformatie terecht in de Fan Corner Groningen. Hier zijn de afdelingen Ticketing en Supporterszaken onder één dak samengebracht, evenals de nieuwe Fanshop.
Door de verhuizing naar de Fan Corner Groningen was de Supportersbalie dinsdag telefonisch tijdelijk minder goed bereikbaar. Vanaf woensdagochtend 10.00 uur is de Supportersbalie telefonisch weer optimaal bereikbaar en te bezoeken in de Fan Corner. Op beide manieren kunnen zowel losse kaarten voor de eerste thuiswedstrijd van het seizoen tegen FC Utrecht, zondagmiddag om 14.30 uur in Euroborg, als seizoenkaarten worden verkregen. Officiële opening De officiële opening voor het publiek van het nieuwe onderkomen van FC Groningen is op zaterdag 17 augustus tussen 10.00 uur en 17.00 uur. De Fan Corner Groningen is gevestigd op de hoek van de nieuwbouw van het Alfa-college aan de Boumaboulevard. De prachtige Fanshop telt twee verdiepingen met een totale oppervlakte van circa 400 m2.
De naam van het nieuwe onderkomen is uiteraard niet geheel toevallig tot stand gekomen en kent een verwijzing naar de naam van de club, het voetbal en de locatie. De woorden ‘Fan’ en ‘Corner’ worden met een hoofdletter F en C geschreven en refereren aan de F en de C voor de clubnaam van FC Groningen. Bovendien is ‘corner’ een voetbalterm en is het gebouw gevestigd op de hoek (in het Engels: corner) van het nieuwbouwpand van het Alfa-college. Openingstijden Vanaf de officiële opening zijn de openingstijden van de Fan Corner Groningen bepaald op maandag tot en met vrijdag van 10.00 uur tot 17.30 uur en op zaterdag van 10.00 tot 17.00 uur. Over het programma van de officiële opening zal in de komende periode nadere berichtgeving volgen.
