In FC Groningen TV wordt vanavond vooruit gekeken naar de 36e editie van het GasTerra Eurovoetbaltoernooi. FC Groningen A1 gaat komend pinksterweekend proberen om net als in 1986, 2007 en 2010 Eurovoetbal winnend af te sluiten. De uitzending begint om 18.00 uur op Eredivisie Live 1.
Vorig jaar verloor FC Groningen de finale van Sporting Lissabon. De Portugezen waren toen met 2-0 te sterk voor de FC. Mark Diemers maakte toen deel uit van de selectie van FC Groningen en zal er komend weekend weer bij zijn. Hij heeft grote verwachtingen van het toernooi, net als zijn ploeggenoot Robby Holder die zijn debuut zal maken op Eurovoetbal.
In het verleden bracht Eurovoetbal grote namen voort. Zo was Erwin Koeman in 1977 de maker van het eerste doelpunt van Eurovoetbal. Hij kijkt daar 35 jaar later nog steeds met veel plezier op terug. In 2007 won Stef Nijland met FC Groningen het toernooi door in de eindstrijd Sparta Praag te verslaan. Nijland werd in 2007 gekozen tot de beste speler van het toernooi en sloot niet veel later aan bij de eerste selectie van FC Groningen. Een jaar later maakte hij de overstap naar PSV.
Afgelopen vrijdag sloot FC Groningen het seizoen af met een wedstrijd tegen de Suriprofs. De FC verloor met 3-0 al was die zege geflatteerd. grote man was Clarence Seedorf met twee goals. Zijn neefje Stefano maakte ook deel uit van de Suriprofs. Voor Stefano was het een weerzien met de club waar hij tussen 2004 en 2007 zelf speelde. Hij koestert nog steeds warme gevoelens voor FC Groningen. Dat geldt ook voor de coach van de Suriprofs, Dean Gorré. De huidige trainer van Schotland onder-17 en kwam midden jarig ’90 uit voor de Trots van het Noorden.
Wie nu een kijkje neemt in Euroborg ziet dat er van alles gebeurt in het stadion. Zo wordt de Lounge helemaal omgebouwd en is de grasmat opnieuw ingezaaid. Financieel directeur Robbert Klaver vertelt in FCG TV wat er deze week allemaal op stapel staat. Tevens wordt in FCG TV vanavond duidelijk waarom er vanmiddag een belangrijke persconferentie op stapel staat in Euroborg.
FC Groningen TV wordt vanavond om 18.00 uur uitgezonden op Eredivisie Live 1. De herhaling is te zien op Eredivisie Live 2 om 19.00 uur, 21.00 uur en 23.00 uur. Woensdag wordt FC Groningen TV om 09.25 uur en 13.25 uur herhaald op EL 1.
