De training van de eerste selectie wordt donderdagochtend gehouden op het kunstgrasveld van Sportpark De Koepel in Haren. Jong FC Groningen speelt donderdagmiddag om 14.30 uur een oefenwedstrijd tegen FC Emmen in Eelde op het kunstgrasveld van VV Actief.
Op dit moment is nog niet vastgesteld waar de training van vrijdag wordt gehouden, mogelijk zal dit in het stadion zijn omdat hoofdtrainer Robert Maaskant en zijn staf in de aanloop naar de competitiewedstrijd van zondag in Nijmegen tegen N.E.C. minimaal een keer op gewoon gras willen trainen.
In verband met de ingetreden vorst en de sneeuwval worden wijzigingen in het trainingsschema van FC Groningen pas op het laatste moment doorgevoerd. Afhankelijk van de weersomstandigheden en de gesteldheid van het trainingsveld wordt bekeken op welke ondergrond en waar er het beste getraind kan worden. Veranderingen Supporters en andere belangstellenden, die de veldtrainingen graag volgen, dienen in de wintermaanden rekening te houden met veranderingen in het programma. Vaak wordt een dergelijke beslissing pas op de ochtend zelf genomen en is het lastig iedereen op tijd te bereiken en/of op de hoogte te stellen van een wijziging. Twitter FC Groningen zal eventuele wijzigingen in het trainingsschema zo snel mogelijk doorvoeren op de website. Tevens wordt hiervoor het twitter-account van de club www.twitter.com/fcgroningen en het persoonlijke account van algemeen directeur Hans Nijland, www.twitter.com/jdnijland, ingezet. Belangstellenden voor een veldtraining, die twijfelen over het doorgaan ervan, kunnen op werkdagen ook contact opnemen met de afdeling Supporterszaken, te bereiken via 050 – 587 87 87 (optie 1 in het menu).
