Dagen was hij al op van de zenuwen en nachten heeft hij wakker gelegen. Allemaal omdat afgelopen zondag zijn grootste wens in vervulling zou gaan. En wat een prachtige dag heeft hij beleefd!
Afgelopen november heeft Willem meegedaan aan de Pepernoten actie van de Junior Club. Maar liefst 513 zakken pepernoten heeft hij verkocht waarmee hij € 769,50 heeft opgehaald voor de Make a wish Foundation. In ruil daarvoor zag Willem zijn eigen liefste wens in vervulling gaan; als groot fan Groby met hem het veld op tijdens de warming-up van de spelers.
Willem was al op tijd wakker zondag, maar was zo gespannen dat hij ‘s middags nog even op bed is gaan liggen. Toen hij uit bed stapte was het eindelijk tijd om naar Euroborg af te reizen! Om half twee meldde Willem zich, samen met zijn ouders, bij het stadion. Gespannen, maar met een berg zin ging hij richting kleedkamer waar een (door alle spelers gesigneerd) trainingspak voor hem klaar lag. Eenmaal omgekleed werd Willem door Groby opgehaald om dan eindelijk het heilige gras van Euroborg te betreden. Met in zijn ene hand Groby zijn poot en in de andere hand een grote FC vlag begon Willem aan zijn ‘rondje stadion’. Als afsluiter liepen Groby en Willem hand-in-hand als eerste het veld op bij de spelersopkomtst. “Een dag om nooit meer te vergeten!” aldus een superblije Willem. En wij zijn blij dat wij zijn wens in vervulling hebben kunnen laten gaan!
