FC Groningen onder-18 kende een turbulent seizoen. Nadat in de eerste seizoenshelft promotie op een haar na werd gemist, gaat het in de tweede helft van het jaar sportief minder. Met aanvoerder Jorg Schreuders wordt in de voorlaatste aflevering van de serie Dromen van Euroborg teruggekeken op een bewogen jaar. Het seizoen voor verdediger Thijmen Blokzijl kent nog een bijzonder toetje met het EK onder-17 in Israël.

Jorg Schreuders was als captain van FC Groningen onder-18 één van de sterkhouders in het seizoen. De middenvelder kijkt in de voorlaatste aflevering van de serie Dromen van Euroborg terug op een bijzonder seizoen. Sportief en ook voor hem persoonlijk. Schreuders tekende namelijk zijn eerste contract bij de FC. Een bijzonder moment.

Ook Thijmen Blokzijl kende een goede persoonlijke ontwikkeling. De verdediger begon het seizoen bij FC Groningen onder-18 en groeide door tot vaste kracht in de Onder-21 van de Trots van het Noorden. Aan het einde van het seizoen werd de stopper door de Opleiding uitgeroepen tot Best Western Strijder van het Jaar. Even daarvoor kende hij samen met ploeggenoot Jasper Meijster een bijzonder toernooi bij Oranje onder-17 op het EK in Israël.
