Vanavond wordt om 19.00 uur afgetrapt bij de wedstrijd FC Groningen – FC Volendam. Het duel wordt gespeeld bij de vv Aduard 2000.
Voor FC Groningen is het de achtste confrontatie in de oefenperiode. Na afgelopen zaterdag met de wedstrijd tegen BV Veendam breekt het laatste deel van de voorbereiding aan. Niet alle fitte spelers zullen vanavond speeltijd krijgen. Er is een selectie van zeventien spelers samengesteld die het zal opnemen tegen FC Volendam.
Afgelopen zaterdag kwamen Thomas Enevoldsen, Tim Matavz en Luciano da Silva weer voor het eerst in actie. Vanavond zijn Tim Sparv en Koen van de Laak weer fit om te spelen. Ook Leandro Bacuna keert terug na interlandverplichtingen. Fredrik Stenman wordt uit voorzorg een duel aan de kant gehouden. In 2003 oefende FC Groningen voor het laatst tegen FC Volendam. Destijds werd voor 3.100 toeschouwers in Roden met 3-1 gewonnen.
Voor FC Volendam is het de zevende van negen wedstrijden in de aanloop naar de competitiestart in de Juliper League. De ploeg haalde uit tegen een viertal amateurselecties, maar wist niet te scoren tegen de EVV Echt (0-0). Afgelopen zaterdag won de ploeg met 2-0 bij HHC Hardenberg. Grote man bij Volendam is tot dusver oud-FC’er Jack Tuyp die elf van de 29 treffers voor zijn rekening nam.
Het Sportpark Aduard van vv Aduard 2000 ligt aan de Burg. van Barneveldweg 23a, 9831 RD te Aduard. Kaarten kosten 8 euro voor volwassenen en 4 euro voor jeugd tot 12 jaar. Route vanuit Groningen: Vertrek in westelijke richting (N355, Friesestraatweg). Ga ter hoogte van Aduard rechtsaf. Volg de Hoofdstraat tot je de brug nadert. Neem de laatste (zesde) afslag links. Je komt vervolgens op een groot rond parkeerterrein met aan je linkerhand de ingang van het Sportpark Aduard.
