FC Groningen speelt vanavond, vrijdag 7 juli, de tweede oefenwedstrijd van de oefencampagne in de aanloop naar het seizoen 2017/2018. Tegenstander is vv Winsum, ter ere van honderd jaar voetbal in het dorp.
In 1917 werd Hunsingo opgericht in Winsum. Deze club fuseerde vorig jaar met Viboa (anno 1921) en samen verdedigen de beide historierijke clubs nu de naam van het dorp. Met 1.150 leden is de Zaterdag Eerste Klasser een van de grootste clubs in de regio.
De ploeg van trainer Robert Bos eindigde afgelopen seizoen op een keurige zesde plaats l werd afgelopen seizoen geroemd om het sterke collectief.
Bij FC Groningen ontbreken nog de vijf internationals in de eerste selectie en sluiten vijf spelers vanuit de Beloften-ploeg aan: Abdel Elouazzane, Amir Absalem, Robbert de Vos, Gerald Postma en Tim Waterink.
Het duel begint vanavond om 19.00 uur en tickets kosten 9 euro voor volwassenen en 4 euro voor jeugd tot en met 12 jaar. De kassa’s van Sportpark Schouwerzijlsterweg openen om 17.30 uur. De routebeschrijving is hier te vinden.
