FC Groningen D1 kan zaterdagochtend 4 april kampioen worden. Bij winst op Twente/Heracles D1 is de ploeg niet meer te achterhalen. Het duel begint zaterdag om 10.30 uur. Groningen-Heerenveen bij de C'ers is de wedstrijd van de week.
De toegang bij het duel op Sportpark Corpus den Hoorn is gratis. FC Groningen D1 is dit seizoen nog ongeslagen en heeft één keer puntenverlies geleden, in de uitwedstrijd tegen Twente/Heracles D1.
Met nog vier speelronden te gaan heeft FC Groningen D1 tien punten voorsprong op de nummer 2 van de ranglijst, SC Heerenveen D1. Bij winst op zaterdag is de ploeg van trainer Hugo Alves Velame dus niet meer te achterhalen.
Wedstrijd van de week: FC Groningen C1 – SC Heerenveen C1 De C1’s van Groningen en Heerenveen zijn erg aan elkaar gewaagd. Sinds 1996 speelden de ploegen in totaal 25 keer in competitieverband tegen elkaar. Beide ploegen wonnen tienmaal. FC Groningen pakte tweemaal de titel in het District Noord en SC Heerenveen één keer. Op Corpus won Heerenveen één keer vaker dan Groningen.
In twaalf ontmoetingen waren er vijf Friese zeges. Zaterdag heeft FC Groningen de kans de stand gelijk te trekken. Vorig seizoen eindigde het thuisduel in een 3-0 overwinning. Eerder dit seizoen werd het op Skoatterwald 2-2.
