Angelo Cijntje tekent een amateurovereenkomst bij FC Groningen. Hij zal zich als speler voegen bij de Beloften-selectie. Hij zal als zodanig ook een mentorrol gaan vervullen voor de jonge spelers bij Jong FC Groningen.
Cijntje, afkomstig van SC Veendam, traint al sinds de voorbereiding van dit seizoen mee bij Jong FC Groningen. Speler en club hebben in samenspraak besloten een amateurovereenkomst met elkaar aan te gaan.
Angelo Cijntje zal als speler van de Beloften-selectie deel gaan uitmaken. Daarbij zal hij als mentor de spelers van die selectie blijven coaches en begeleiden. Dit is een rol die hij al sinds zijn komst naar tevredenheid vervult.
Cijntje zal nu formeel bij de bond worden overgeschreven naar FC Groningen en mag nu – behalve in oefenduels – ook in officiële wedstrijden in actie komen. Door de amateurovereenkomst blijft de verdediger wel beschikbaar voor de arbeidsmarkt.
