De eerste selectie en staf verblijven deze week in het Duitse Barsinghausen voor een trainingskamp. Vandaag stond de eerste volledige dag op het programma, met twee veldtrainingen. Voor geboren Duitsers Frank Wormuth en Marin Sverko is het een speciale week: zij zijn weer terug in hun thuisland
s’ Ochtends stond er direct een pittige training op het programma voor de eerste selectie. In een sessie van bijna twee uur lang werd er tactisch getraind. Na de lunch was er even tijd voor ontspanning, maar vanaf 15:00 uur werd de selectie alweer klaargestoomd voor de tweede en laatste training van de dag.
In Duitsland werkt de selectie onder leiding van trainer Frank Wormuth meerdere oefensessies per dag af. Op zaterdag 9 juli sluit FC Groningen het trainingskamp af met een oefenwedstrijd, tegen Hannover 96. De wedstrijd wordt gespeeld in het Eilenriedestadion in Hannover, de aftrap is dan om 14:00 uur.
Het team is in Duitsland, hét geboorteland van Marin Sverko en Frank Wormuth. De twee vertellen in de tweede aflevering van Check In: Barsinghausen hoe het is om weer terug in Duitsland te zijn, hoe het is om met elkaar te werken én of Marin zijn teamgenoten nog wat Duitse woorden kan bijbrengen. Ook bespreken ze het trainingskamp, en de doelen voor deze week.
