Afgelopen zaterdag, 10 mei, vond voor de 5e keer de Mascotterun plaats tijdens het jaarlijkse Walk For Life evenement.
Tien mascottes vanuit het hele land waren bij het evenement aanwezig om deel te nemen aan de Mascotterun.Onder de deelnemers bevonden zich onder andere Zwolfje, Camigo, Budrake, Nieno en natuurlijk ook Groby.
De Mascotterun bestaat zoals elk jaar uit het lopen van een parcours met horden, dit jaar uitgebreid met obstakels van strobalen. Aan de mascottes was het de taak om het parcours zo snel mogelijk af te leggen. Er werden drie voorrondes gespeeld, waarna er na elke ronde een winnaar doorstroomde naar de finale. Groby eindigde als 4e en moest de finale aan zich voorbij laten gaan.
Nieno, Budrake en Zwolfje waren de finalisten en streden om de eerste plaats. De winnaar van vorig jaar, Budrake, was niet van plan zijn titel uit handen te geven. Hij wist dan ook als eerste over de streep te komen.
Ondanks de regen was het een mooie en geslaagde Mascotterun. Groby gaat alvast in training voor volgend jaar!
