FC Groningen TV brengt vanavond een bezoek aan Leeuwarden om te zien hoe het gaat met de tegenstander van zaterdag: SC Cambuur. Daarnaast is er een voorbeschouwing met Marco Bizot en Timo Letschert en kijkt Eric Botteghin nog even terug op zijn eerste wedstrijd voor FC Groningen in Euroborg.
Zaterdag is Cambuur Leeuwarden de derde tegenstander van dit seizoen van FC Groningen. Het duel is de elfde officiële ontmoeting in Leeuwarden. Aan de laatste keer dat FC Groningen in Leeuwarden speelde, heeft de club slechte herinneringen. Op 27 mei 1998 verloor FC Groningen in de nacompetitie met 3-1 waardoor de FC afdaalde naar de eerste divisie. FCG TV kijkt nog even kort terug op die zwarte avond voor FC Groningen.
In Groningen heerst nu een positieve stemming na de twee recente overwinningen op NEC en FC Utrecht. Ook bij Cambuur Leeuwarden is de sfeer prima. De Friezen laten goed voetbal zien en dat met een ploeg die voor een groot deel bestaat uit spelers die een verleden hebben bij FC Groningen. FCG TV toog naar de Friese hoofdstad en sprak met oud-FC Groningen trainer Dwight Lodeweges en oud-spelers Mart Dijkstra en Leonard Nienhuis.
FC Groningen trainde donderdag en vrijdag op het kunstgras van VV Actief in Eelde om alvast te wennen aan de ondergrond van Cambuur in Leeuwarden. Voor Marco Bizot is het een speciale wedstrijd omdat hij twee seizoenen geleden als huurling van Ajax in het doel stond van Cambuur. Voor Timo Letschert is het de eerste wedstrijd na zijn debuut van afgelopen woensdag voor Jong Oranje.
Eric Botteghin speelde afgelopen zondag tegen FC Utrecht zijn eerste wedstrijd namens FC Groningen in Euroborg. Zijn eerste kennismaking met Euroborg was in 2006 toen hij nog voetbalde voor Internacional Porto Alegre uit Brazilië. Vanaf dat moment verloor hij geen wedstrijd meer in de Groene Kathedraal.
FC Groningen TV wordt vanavond om 17.05 uur uitgezonden op kanaal 1 van Fox Sports Eredivisie. De herhaling is te zien om 19.10 uur op kanaal 1, om 18.00, 20.00 uur en 21.00 uur op kanaal 3 en om 19.00 uur, 21.00 uur en 23.00 uur op kanaal 5 van Fox Sports Eredivisie. Zaterdag wordt FCG TV om 11.35 uur herhaald op kanaal.
De afleveringen van FC Groningen TV zijn elke zaterdag ook te zien op OOG TV, de lokale omroep van Groningen. De uitzendingen beginnen om 15.30 uur en zijn in een carrousel terug te zien tot zondagochtend 9.00 uur.
