Marcus Berg en FC Groningen hebben een schikkingsvoorstel geaccepteerd voor een schorsing van één duel onvoorwaardelijk en één duel voorwaardelijk naar aanleiding van de rode kaart die hij gisteren ontving in het uitduel met Willem II.
Marcus Berg zette in de laatste minuut van de uitwedstrijd bij Willem II een sliding in op Rens van Eijden en bracht de Brabander daarbij tot val. Maandag kwam de aanklager van de KNVB tot een schikkingsvoorstel van twee duels schoring waarvan één voorwaardelijk wegens ernstig gemeen spel.
Dit houdt in dat Marcus Berg aanstaande vrijdag in de thuiswedstrijd tegen AZ niet inzetbaar is, maar een week later in de uitwedstrijd bij PSV wel weer kan spelen.
