Marcus Berg heeft zaterdagavond met 0-0 gelijkgespeeld bij Portugal. Hij viel vijf minuten voor tijd in. Oluwafemi Ajilore speelde zondagmiddag met 0-0 gelijk in Mozambique. Hij maakte het laatste kwartier zijn opwachting. De Nederlandse Beloften en Oranje onder-19 wonnen eerder dit weekend oefenduels.
Bij Zweden zat Andreas Granqvist niet bij de wedstrijdselectie. Marcus Berg maakte vijf minuten voor tijd zijn opwachting voor de Zweedse selectie die nog ongeslagen is in de aanloop naar het WK in Zuid-Afrika. De ploeg heeft zes punten uit vier duels en speelt in juni thuis tegen achtereenvolgens Denemarken en Malta.
Oluwafemi Ajilore kwam in Maputo, de hoofdstad van Mozambique, een kwartier in actie. Het was het eerste in een reeks van zes kwalificatieduels voor het WK in Zuid-Afrika en tevens voor de Afrikaanse kampioenschappen in 2010. De groepswinnaar plaatst zich voor het WK. Het andere duel in de poule, tussen Kenia en Tunesië eindigde in 1-2. Op 6 juni speelt Nigeria de uitwedstrijd tegen Kenia.
Darryl Lachman werd een dag voor de oefenwedstrijd van het Nederlands Beloftenelftal nog opgeroepen en maakte vrijdag zijn opwachting in het team van bondcoach Hans Schrijver. De ploeg won met 2-0. Shkodran Metaj maakte 25 minuten voor tijd zijn opwachting. Tom Hiariej stond in de basis en werd in de rust gewisseld.
Oranje onder-19 won in Servië overtuigend van de leeftijdsgenoten uit dat land. Leonard Nienhuis verdedigde het doel in de met 4-1 gewonnen wedstrijd. Serhat Koç maakte een kleine twintig minuten voor het einde zijn opwachting en scoorde bij zijn eerste balcontact 3-1. Koç komt in het nieuwe seizoen van FC Eindhoven naar FC Groningen.
