Jong FC Groningen heeft dinsdagavond het laatste oefenduel gewonnen in en tegen Holwierde. De wedstrijd eindigde in 0-4 na een 0-3 ruststand. Komende maandag start de competitie met een thuiswedstrijd tegen Jong Heracles Almelo.
Trainer Dick Lukkien keek tevreden terug op de laatste test voordat maandag het ‘echte’ werk van start gaat: “We hebben steeds druk op de tegenstander te houden en hebben een herkenbare speelstijl weten te ontwikkelen. Iedereen is serieus met zijn eigen taak bezig en vol energie en enthousiasme met het team. Verbeterpunt is nog het druk zetten in de eerste fase. Daarin gaat het nog om de manier van druk zetten van onze aanvallers. De uitvoering daarin kan nog beter.”
“Manco specifiek in de wedstrijd tegen Holwierde was het afmaken van de kansen. We hebben tien tot twaalf mogelijkheden gehad en uiteindelijk vier keer gescoord. Als we in de positie komen, moeten we nog meer ballen binnen schieten. Al bezien ben ik tevreden met de manier waarop iedereen met elkaar bezig is.
