Jong FC Groningen heeft dinsdagavond de thuiswedstrijd tegen Jong Feyenoord/Excelsior met 3-1 gewonnen. De eindstand was bij de pauze reeds bereikt.
Na vijf minuten kwam de uitploeg met een man minder te staan toen Paco van Moorsel binnen de zestien werd gevloerd door Mats van Huijgevoort. Een minuut later nam Van Moorsel zelf plaats achter de bal om de strafschop te verzilveren. Doelman Ronald Graafland keerde de inzet, maar in de herkansing scoorde de middenvelder alsnog 1-0.
Halverwege de eerste helft verdubbelde Hilal Ben Moussa de score met een fraaie boogbal van enkele meters buiten het strafschopgebied: 2-0. Vier minuten later gaf Stefano Magnasco de assist op de derde treffer van de avond. David Texeira was de maker van de 3-0.
Vijf minuten voor rust bracht Feyenoord de marge terug tot twee toen Guyon Fernandez de 3-1 binnenkopte en de ruststand bepaalde. Na de pauze vielen er geen grote kansen meer te noteren en kwam in de score dan ook geen verandering meer.
Door de zege stijgt Jong FC Groningen naar de vierde plek op de ranglijst. De ploeg van trainer Dick Lukkien heeft nu twintig punten uit elf wedstrijden. Komende dinsdag speelt de ploeg in Eindhoven de uitwedstrijd tegen Jong PSV. Aanvang 18.30 uur.
