Jong FC Groningen heeft maandagavond tegen Jong ADO Den Haag met 2-2 gelijk gespeeld. De FC-doelpunten op het kunstgrasveld van VV Actief in Eelde kwamen op naam van Kevin Mennega en Michael de Leeuw. David Texeira maakte na lang blessureleed zijn rentree in de ploeg van trainer Paul Raveneau.
Jong FC Groningen verspeelde in deze inhaalwedstrijd een 2-0 voorsprong in de Beloftencompetitie Divisie A. Het team van Raveneau heeft nu 15 punten uit zeven wedstrijden, maar tevens ook nog twee wedstrijden tegoed en de minste verliespunten in de competitie. Donderdag haalt Jong FC Groningen het competitieduel met Jong Vitesse in op Papendal in Arnhem. Rentree Raveneau kon in Eelde beschikken over maar liefst zeven spelers uit de eerste selectie. David Texeira stond na een lange blessure voor zijn rentree op het veld in wedstrijdverband. De Uruguayaanse spits kwam alleen de eerste helft in actie.
Daarnaast kwamen de verdedigers Timo Letschert, William Ekong en Lorenzo Burnet in actie bij Jong FC Groningen, evenals Rasmus Lindgren, Michael de Leeuw en Emil Johansson.
Jong FC Groningen ging met een comfortabel ogende 2-0 voorsprong rusten door doelpunten van Kevin Mennega en Michael de Leeuw. Na de pauze kwamen de gasten uit Den Haag terug in de wedstrijd via Mitchel de Vlugt en vlak voor tijd zorgde Papito Merencia alsnog voor de 2-2.
