Jong FC Groningen start vanavond op Sportpark Corpus den Hoorn de competitie met de thuiswedstrijd tegen Heracles Almelo. De ploeg van trainer Dick Lukkien trapt af om 18.30 uur.
De Beloften eindigden vorig seizoen als derde in de competitie, vlak achter Heracles Almelo dat tweede werd. Jong PSV is de regerend kampioen in de Beloften Eredivisie.
De voorbereiding voor de B-kern startte dit seizoen gelijktijdig met die van de eerste selectie. In de afgelopen weken werden diverse oefenduels afgewerkt.
Met ingang van dit seizoen mogen slechts drie van de achttien spelers in de selectie geboren zijn voor 1989. Voorheen konden per wedstrijd nog vier veldspelers en een doelman dispensatie krijgen.
Het duel begint vanavond om 18.30 uur op Sportpark Corpus den Hoorn. De toegang is zoals gebruikelijk gratis bij duels van de Beloften op Corpus.
