Jong FC Groningen speelt vanavond de laatste officiële wedstrijd van het seizoen 2012/2013. De ploeg van trainer Dick Lukkien wil graag de tweede plek op de ranglijst bemachtigen. Aanvang op Sportpark de Toekomst is 18.30 uur.
Bij winst op Jong Ajax is Jong FC Groningen minimaal derde. Indien Jong FC Utrecht punten verspeelt bij Jong RKC Waalwijk, is ook de tweede plek nog mogelijk. Jong FC Groningen is momenteel vierde op de ranglijst. Bij een gelijkspel of verlies kan Jong Heracles nog langszij komen. De Almeloërs spelen tegen kampioen Jong Heerenveen.
In Amsterdam speelt de ploeg van trainer Dick Lukkien tegen Jong Ajax, dat 37 punten in 21 wedstrijden verzamelde. Eén meer dan FC Groningen. De thuiswedstrijd werd door Groningen met 3-2 gewonnen, door treffers van David Texeira (2x) en Filip Kostic. Ook vanavond is Kostic van de partij, net als onder anderen Mitchell Schet en Emil Johansson.
Voor Lukkien is het zijn laatste wedstrijd als trainer van de Beloften. Komend seizoen volgt Paul Raveneau hem op. Op dinsdag 21 mei wordt in Ten Boer overigens nog een oefenwedstrijd gespeeld tussen Omlandia en Jong FC Groningen. Dat duel begint om 19.00 uur.
