Jong FC Groningen brengt maandagavond een bezoek aan Jong VVV/Helmond Sport in de Beloftencompetitie. De ploeg van trainer Paul Raveneau won de eerste wedstrijd van het Limburgse Fortuna Sittard.
Door het oneven aantal ploegen in de groep van Jong FC Groningen kwam de FC in de tweede speelronde niet in actie. Ook NEC/FC Oss het tot dusver enige duel. Daarnaast zijn koplopers Jong Heerenveen en Jong Vitesse met de volle winst uit twee duels koploper.
Jong VVV/Helmond Sport kwam ook al tweemaal in actie. In de openingsronde ging het combinatieteam met 5-1 onderuit tegen Heerenveen. Bij Fortuna Sittard werd met 1-0 gewonnen.
De Beloften van FC Groningen komen vanavond naar het Lavans Stadion in Helmond met een ploeg waarin zeven spelers van de eerste selectie zijn opgenomen: Hilal Ben Moussa, William Ekong, Lorenzo Burnet, Emil Johansson, Género Zeefuik, Stefano Magnasco en Tom Hiariej.
De wedstrijd begint vanavond om 18.30 uur. Komende week oefent Jong FC Groningen tweemaal. De derde competitiewedstrijd is op maandag 16 september, op Corpus den Hoorn. Tegenstander is dan Jong FC Dordrecht. Via onderstaande link is het speelschema te vinden.
