Jong FC Groningen heeft maandagavond op Corpus den Hoorn met 3-1 verloren van Jong De Graafschap. Robby Holder scoorde tien minuten voor tijd de eretreffer namens de thuisploeg.
In het team van trainer Dick Lukkien stonden onder anderen Brian van Loo, Johan Kappelhof, Matias Jones en Nicklas Pedersen vanuit de A-kern opgesteld. Bij De Graafschap kwamen onder meer Purrel Fränkel en Anco Jansen in actie.
Na acht minuten moesten de gasten al noodgedwongen wisselen. Remco Beumer viel geblesseerd uit. Twee minuten later gaf Jansen de assist op Edwin Gyasi, die zijn eerste van drie treffers scoorde: 0-1.
In de vijf minuten voor de pauze scoorde Gyasi met een boogbal en na een voorzet van Fränkel 0-2 en 0-3. Na de onderbreking kwamen Mark Diemers en Robby Holder als invallers in de ploeg van Dick Lukkien.
Echt veel doelgevaar wist de thuisploeg echter niet te stichten. Nadat De Graafschap al driemaal gewisseld had en ook Djelil Abdula geblesseerd naar de kleedkamer moest, kwam Groningen terug in de wedstrijd. Robby Holder scoorde de 1-3.
