Jong FC Groningen heeft dinsdagavond met 2-0 verloren van Jong AZ in een oefenwedstrijd. De doelpunten werden vlak voor en vlak na rust gescoord op het veld van FC Lewenborg.
Voor de Beloften van FC Groningen stond afgelopen weekend tweemaal een Hallenturnier op de rol. Na de terugkeer van de eerste selectie uit het Spaanse Oliva werd de focus weer verplaatst naar het veld. In de basisopstelling van vanavond stonden negen van de 24 spelers die in Spanje op trainingskamp waren geweest.
Met doelpunten van Raymond Gyasi en Thomas Ouwejan vlak voor en vlak na rust ging de eerste oefenwedstrijd op het veld verloren voor de ploeg van trainer Paul Raveneau. In de komende maand staan nog drie oefenduels op de rol.
Komende dinsdag, 21 januari, wordt in het Duitse Lingen geoefend tegen SV Meppen (aanvang 19.00 uur). Op maandag 3 februari wordt op Corpus den Hoorn geoefend tegen Jong SC Heerenveen (18.30 uur). Op dinsdag 18 februari staat een oefenduel bij ACV op de rol (19.30 uur).
Tussendoor wordt de competitie op maandag 27 januari hervat met een thuiswedstrijd tegen Jong VVV/Helmond Sport (18.30 uur). Op maandag 10 februari staat de uitwedstrijd tegen Jong FC Dordrecht op het programma.
